Connecting Your First Slack Channel

Slack Integration Overview

The Slack integration is the heart of Buckets' feedback collection system. It allows you to automatically capture and organize feedback directly from your team's conversations.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to your Slack workspace
  • A Buckets account (free trial is fine)
  • Decide which channels you want to monitor

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Navigate to Integrations

From your Buckets dashboard, click on "Integrations" in the sidebar or go to Settings → Integrations.

2. Connect Slack

Click the "Connect Slack" button. You'll be redirected to Slack's authorization page.

Note: You'll need admin permissions to install the Buckets app in your workspace.

3. Authorize the App

Review the permissions requested by Buckets and click "Allow" to authorize the connection.

Required Permissions:
  • • Read messages from channels you select
  • • Post messages to channels (for notifications)
  • • Access channel information

4. Select Channels

Choose which channels you want Buckets to monitor for feedback. You can select multiple channels.

Tip: Start with channels where you receive the most feedback, like #feedback, #product, or #support.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

If you're having trouble connecting, ensure you have admin permissions and try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.

Missing Messages

If messages aren't appearing in Buckets, check that the channel is properly selected and that the bot has the necessary permissions.
